“Throughout my career working in a community with the highest levels of poverty concentration among African Americans and Latino Americans in the US, I’ve seen how entrepreneurship is a pathway out of poverty leading to sustainable and self sufficient families,” said nationally recognized community activist Mary Alice Smothers. “However, I’ve also seen that so many youth entrepreneurs and long-standing family businesses in our community and in underserved communities all throughout the country struggle to access the low-cost financing needed to grow and create jobs and I’m proud to be working with SourceFunding.org to promote an inclusive financial system that levels the playing field for all entrepreneurs."
